Where were you born and brought up?

I was born in London.

 

Where did you go to school?

I went to a convent school.

 

What did you particularly like and dislike about school?

Horrible teachers, not like today’s nice ones!

 

What did you want to be, as a child?

A poet, I’ve always been a poet.

 

What was your favourite book as a child?

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.

 

Do you have any hobbies?

I love gardening, and talking with my friends, and buying clothes.

 

What makes you happy?

People that smile at me, and my lovely black kitten whose name is Wesley.

 

What makes you angry?

Unkindness in all its forms.

 

When did you start to write?

As soon as I learned how to write, I started writing poems.

 

Which one was your first book?

My poems are in lots o books I can’t remember the first one!

 

Do you find it easy to write?

No, because I’m very lazy, and I have to make myself do it.

 

Where do you write?

Absolutely anywhere! I carry a notebook in my handbag so I can always write an idea down.

 

From where do you get your ideas?

Looking at the world around me, and wondering about how I’m feeling too.

 

What advice would you give someone who is starting to write?

Write something every day.

 

Are some of your characters based on yourself?

Not always.

 

Which of your books is your favourite?

All my poems are my favourites!

 

Which is your favourite character?

Well me, of course!

Is there something you would like to change about yourself?

I’d like to be a little bit taller.

 

Which are your favourite television programmes?

The Simpsons, and Futurama.

 

What is your favourite food?

Ripe bananas, and fresh strawberries.

 

What makes you laugh?

My favourite TV programmes, and my mum when she’s trying to remember a joke and failing to get it right!

 

Are there any secrets that you’d like to share with the children of Wales?

We’re all poets really, but not everyone has realised this yet!
