Liaison Officer.

The Schools Project
This scheme offers an excellent opportunity for teachers and librarians to keep up-to-date with the latest
Welsh-language and Welsh-interest books and resources to support the National Curriculum.
How does the scheme work?
Field Officers
Four officers visit schools throughout Wales in order to exhibit books and educational resources and to
collect orders. Three officers work in the primary sector and one in the secondary. These exhibitions
provide teachers with an excellent opportunity to browse through the books as well as receiving advice
and help from experienced officers.
It is also possible to search for information on all the books available on the Welsh Books Council's website
www.gwales.com on the officers' laptops. Orders are taken by computer
and are processed through the school's choice of local bookshop.
Officers also visit libraries, and arrange exhibitions at conferences and courses.
In order to arrange a visit, or for further information on the scheme, please contact Lila Piette, Schools

Information Packs
Every term, a comprehensive information pack is sent to all schools in Wales each pack contains colourful posters,
information leaflets on books, and Meet the Author leaflets which give useful and interesting information on authors
who write in Welsh, or in English about Wales, as well as leaflets from publishers giving information about forthcoming publications.
