The  Welsh Books Council  is delighted to confirm that a special book to celebrate World Book Day is to be published for the first time ever in Welsh  –  and for the special price of  £1!

An Amazing Line-up of Authors and Illustrators Announced for the Biggest Book Show on Earth Tour

A fantastic line-up of authors and illustrators has been announced for the Biggest Book Show on Earth tour, which will be held in Aberystwyth and Carmarthen for the first time ever this year. Almost 1,500 children, aged between 9 and 11, will attend these events free of charge.

Geiriau Cyntaf Cyw  by Helen Davies (Y Lolfa) was chosen as the successful book after the Welsh Books Council was asked to be part of the tendering process to supply 10,000 copies of a Welsh title as part of the Flying Start programme.

Annual Stocktake - 26 Jan 2018

The Welsh Books Council Distribution Centre will be undertaking their annual stocktake this week, and all Gwales orders placed after midday on Friday, 26 January will be dealt with on Thursday, 1 February. This does not affect eBook orders.

Following their Annual Meeting in Aberystwyth yesterday (Thursday, 30 November), the Welsh Books Council are pleased to share the final report produced by Dr Siwan Rosser of the School of Welsh, Cardiff University, on her Survey of Welsh-language Books for Children and Young People which she conducted earlier this year.
