A SPECIAL GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS

With only a few weeks to go before Christmas, you may well be one of those still hunting around for that special gift for a friend.  You need to look no further, however, as the Books Council have the ideal answer for you.

The two book supplements, produced recently by the Books Council, are full of the latest publications, with titles to suit all ages.  So why not buy friends and family a selection of books this Christmas?

The full range of  English-language titles are presented in the Books from Wales supplement, which will be distributed with the Western Mail, and contains an extensive range of novels, biographies and volumes of poetry.  Copies of the supplement have also been distributed to every bookshop and library in Wales.

‘Once again, the publishers have prepared an excellent selection of books this year,’ said Phil Davies, Head of Marketing at the Books Council.

The Welsh-language supplement, Gwledd y Nadolig, has been distributed through the network of community newspapers, the papurau bro, and includes a competition with an opportunity to win a holiday voucher sponsored by Silver Star Holidays, Caernarfon.

‘Both supplements will give you plenty of ideas for those special personal gifts,’ added Phil Davies, ‘so that everyone will be ensured of a very merry Christmas in the company of their favourite book.’
